Know Your Rights! Throughout the month of August, the New York Civil Liberties Union will offer a series of Know Your Rights trainings for people taking part in activities surrounding the Republican National Convention. This interactive training will cover your legal rights as a protester at the RNC and what to do if those rights are infringed upon. It will explore how new laws have changed the nature of demonstrations in NYC, as well as how to interact with the police on the street, what to do if you are stopped or searched, and how to report police misconduct. The trainings will be offered at our Civil Liberties Storefront in midtown (520 8th Ave) on the following dates.
